Hampshire’s Outreach Radio is the first radio station to join UK Radio Portal and make their service available to connected Freeview homes across all ITV Meridian regions.
Originally broadcasting from March 2020 as Lockdown 100.7 FM under a temporary licence granted by OfCom to radio stations supporting local communities during the Coronavirus pandemic, the station was re-branded to Outreach Radio and established itself permanently on DAB to South Hampshire, the South Coast and the Isle of Wight.
Supported by local volunteers, the service brings great music and local information to their listener, whilst supporting local charities and businesses.
Outreach Radio’s radio online distribution of live streaming and catch-up services have also transitioned to UK Radio Portal, via the recent acquisition of InterLojik Limited, making UK Radio Portal the end-to-end online streaming and hosting provider to Outreach Radio.
“UK Radio Portal’s Freeview proposition is a very exciting and innovative new service which greatly enhances Outreach Radio’s offering to it’s listeners across a wide coverage area. The ability to add high-quality on-screen visuals takes the radio service to a new dimension, allowing Outreach Radio to promote programmes, features, events, and advertisers in a complimentary manner whilst maintaining the core radio service. With Outreach Radio already available on DAB, online, on smart speakers and mobile devices, adding Freeview TV’s to the equation now make us available to all major platforms,” said Onur, A.K.A. The Groovy Pelican from Outreach Radio.
